WHY DOES VIDU EXIST?
In 2020, detecting the need and demand of dental clinics for more environmentally friendly solutions and materials, VIDU was born. A new brand of products for dental clinics and laboratories that aims to offer, in the dentistry sector, more sustainable products, with more coherent manufacturing/transportation that allow responsible and environmentally friendly consumption.
VIDU's mission is to offer dentists, dental clinics and laboratories high quality products, in a simple, easy, transparent way and at the best possible price. Finally a solution to enjoy more conscious dentistry committed to caring for our planet.
OUR 6 PRINCIPLES:
1. SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Ensuring the highest quality conditions and getting a fair price, we always seek to offer the least polluting and most easily recyclable solution possible (both in terms of product and packaging).
2. RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION
VIDU promotes the responsible consumption of its products with a very practical packaging format and encouraging dental clinics not to consume more than necessary.
3. PLASTIC NEUTRAL
We use as little plastic as possible in our products and packaging and, moreover, every month we collect the same amount of plastic that we generate thanks to our collaboration with rePurpose.
4. WASTE REDUCTION
VIDU does not use more packaging in its products than is essential and, in addition, the instructions for its proper recycling and disposal can be found clearly on the product data sheets.
5. ONLINE DISTRIBUTION
The marketing of these products is carried out primarily through the Internet, thus avoiding unnecessary transportation and contamination.
6. EASY RECYCLING
In addition, instructions for proper recycling and disposal will be clearly found on the product sheets.
WHAT CONCERNS US?
Every year 400 million tons of Plastic are produced in the world, of which only 9% is recycled. Last year, 142 billion plastic containers were produced for the healthcare sector.
Dental clinics generate a large amount of waste paper, plastic, metals, organic and inorganic materials and even toxic chemical elements and that is why it is vitally important to know how to manage them properly.
To put ourselves in context, it is very graphic that we analyze some estimated figures considering approximately that in 1 hour a dentist in an office cares for 3 patients. If we transfer the figures to days, months or years, the numbers we obtain may seem hopeless. Taking into account that these are just 3 simple examples of some of the many materials that are used in the clinic on a regular basis.
GLOVES: For each patient, the dentist and assistant would use a pair of gloves each, that is, 12 gloves/hour, 96 gloves/day, 1920 gloves/month, 21120 gloves/year.
MASKS: For each dental patient and assistant, you would use one mask each, that is, 6 masks/hour, 48 masks/day, 960 masks/month, 10,560 masks/year.
EJECTORS: For each patient you would use a saliva ejector, that is, 3 ejectors/hour, 24 ejectors/day, 480 ejectors/month, 5280 ejectors/year.
The dental sector has a fundamental role in ensuring that the waste discarded every day can have a second life. If they are not properly managed, they end up in landfills and, ultimately, in the environment that surrounds us.
That is why at VIDU we want to provide clinics with a solution to be able to enjoy dentistry that is more committed to caring for our planet by offering endodontic, orthodontic, restoration products, impression materials, disposables... and much more!
